On average, SimpleTiger has a 4.8/5 star rating from more than 881 reviews. In addition, our team of SEO experts really appreciates that SimpleTiger has a number of publicly facing case studies that show software-as-a-service (SaaS) businesses seeing growth from organic search and disclosing KPIs like trial, subscription, and revenue (MRR/ARR) increases. Here are key takeaways and what you should know:
These marketing leading SaaS SEO agencies proved to be some of the best out there. After reviewing a number of public reviews, looking through their marketing sites, and scouring through some of their public case studies, we've concluded some great insights.
SERPdojo comes in as one of the best market-leading SaaS SEO agencies. However, we have to admit, we're slightly biased in this review.
SERPdojo score
•91/100
Affordability score
•95/100
Expertise score
•98/100
The only downside to SERPdojo is that it's a relatively new agency that's been created. However, the team that's there is a small group of some of the best SEO specialists. These are folks who are capable of putting together comprehensive SaaS SEO strategies that are highly innovative.
Some of the top clients that SERPdojo spouts includes Volusion, CVS Health, Oak Street Health, Geico, GoodRX, and many more. These are some SaaS-specific businesses as well as technology businesses that require a specific approach to search acquisition.
SERPdojo is known for coming up with highly innovative SEO strategies that aren't widely discussed. As an example, they're not going to come to you with skyscraper techniques or other modes of growth that have been discussed on corny YouTube videos.
The team has plenty of SaaS and startup experience and is comfortable managing all of the most important KPIs that should go into a SaaS SEO campaign. That includes keyword growth, impression growth, rank position growth, activations, LTV:CAC ratio, activations, NPS (net promoter score) feedback, and much more.
Here's our overview of SERPdojo:

SimpleTiger comes in right at the top of the list and for good reason. With some very impressive projects coming from clients like Segment, Unsplash, and Gelato, SimpleTiger clearly understands what's required to do SaaS SEO.

One of the only downsides that we're seeing to SimpleTiger is that they are slightly diversified in their service offerings. While that's great for some clients, it can certainly take away from the expertise of only focusing on SEO. They do offer PPC and Web Design services. Again, which can be a benefit to some.
A positive reviewer on UpCity by name of Carmen Vadini said, "All positive things to say about Simple Tiger and highly recommend them to any SaaS company looking to boost their SEO efforts. They are collaborative, communicative, and, most importantly, really know their stuff. Over the last several months, they've helped us nail down keyword research, develop an ongoing and scalable content strategy, ideate and execute individual content pieces, and make critical technical updates to our site, and we've seen rankings and traffic continue to grow."
One of the only downsides that we're seeing to SimpleTiger is that they are slightly diversified in their service offerings. While that's great for some clients, it can certainly take away from the expertise of only focusing on SEO. They do offer PPC and Web Design services. Again, which can be a benefit to some.
We were particularly impressed with the work on Segment, which boasts a +127% increase in organic traffic, a +1320 increase in rank position, and a +14% increase in site-wide organic traffic. However, the only downside is that we're not seeing this particular case study speak to business results (like MRR/ARR or even trial sign-ups). This does knock our score down for this type of work slightly just because we typically like to see how SEO made ROAS (return on advertising spend).

Kalungi comes in at number three here on the list of best SaaS SEO agencies. However, it's important to note that Kalungi seems to have lost some focus with its service offering, going more toward growth and marketing consultation (and even training) rather than specifically SaaS SEO application and execution.

We might not have put Kalungi so high on the list if it didn't have such a long history and track record of having SaaS SEO expertise (from a public review perspective).
The biggest downside that we're seeing to Kalungi right now is that when you go to the marketing site, the "SaaS Marketing Services" are a bit mixed in terms of signal. There is fractional CMO work, CMO coaching, and other services like this. As a result, it's really unclear whether the expertise is still sitting in the SaaS SEO space or not.
That said, some public reviews describe working with Kalungi in a very positive light. Saying, "They take pride in becoming invested partners dedicated to their client's growth—as if each were their business. This commitment to collaboration and shared success is fundamental to their approach. Their pay-for-performance model guarantees a team invested in your results and delivers on promises."
One of the drawbacks that we see right now in terms of scoring Kalungi toward the top of this list is that we're just simply not seeing any public case studies showing SaaS SEO growth. As a result, it might appear that they've shifted focus away from SaaS SEO. It's unclear.
Here's our overview of Kalungi:

Rock the Rankings is a newer SaaS SEO agency, but one of the agencies that we feel should be ranked pretty highly. In general, we might have ranked Rock the Rankings above Kalungi if it wasn't for the "newness" of the agency. And the potentially unclear size of the company.

Rock the Rankings is a SaaS SEO agency that's run by Justin Berg. In general, it looks like Justin knows what he's doing. So this general review of the agency is going to be quite positive. Justin and his agency have been able to work with some pretty major technology businesses including Toast and Exploding Topics.
We're particularly bullish on the Exploding Topics work that Justin and his team put together. If you're familiar with that property and it's organic search growth, you'd be pleased to see this project on his list, as well.
Alexander Vandervert, CEO at Quiker left a nice public review on Clutch saying, "The team took control of their responsibilities and allowed us to focus on our other responsibilities."
We don't really see too many drawbacks to Rock the Rankings and honestly, would be higher on the list if it wasn't unclear whether it's just simply Justin performing the work or a larger team behind him. For organizations that are looking to scale into the millions (whether it's monetarily or through organic search) it's important to have a decent sized team or pod of employees behind that.

First Page Sage has a long history of being in SEO. I mean, take a look at the name of the agency! However, when it comes to our review of looking at SaaS-specific SEO focus, we're seeing First Page Sage hit one of those "unfocused" markers for us in terms of our scoring mechanics.
SERPdojo score
•86/100
Affordability score
•95/100
Expertise score
•89/100
One major benefit to First Page Sage is the long history of expertise in the SEO space. With clients like Salesforce and US Bank, the company clearly has professional expertise and the ability to execute enterprise-level SEO campaigns.
Oddly, there's a unique dedicated website to First Page Sage reviews. We can't help but to think that it might be the company itself using SEO to its advantage. However, we're still seeing some good reviews on there. One by "Jan S." seems to say, "First Page Sage is a top-notch organization. I have been a client for over 3 years and they have changed our economics around lead generation. We were previously doing all our lead gen through ads and now only about 10% of our budget is ads. The majority is SEO due to its low client acquisition cost. First Page Sage built the whole system for us from the ground up."
Lastly, the real only drawback that we're seeing is just the lack of focus around SaaS. However, for some of you that are looking for a great agency to work with, that might not be the biggest drawback for you. As a result, we're ranking First Page Sage pretty high up on this list.
Here's our overview of First Page Sage:

It's interesting, Skale.so should probably be higher up on this list. When it comes to their expertise, their ability to show that they know how to grow SaaS businesses through SEO, and the case studies that are on the website—it all looks so good!

The reason why we had to give a tie with First Page Sage is that the company is based internationally. And when it comes to client relationships, most of the technology businesses are going to be in the United States. In the US alone, there's just far more investment going into technology businesses. Meaning that the demand for SEO services or growth services is going to be based in the US.
As a result of that, we had to give it a slight decrease in our overall rating. Giving it an 86 out of 100. However, with that said, Skale.so is pretty clearly a very authoritative SaaS SEO agency. Working with clients like Perkbox, MoonPay, Holded, and many more startups.
In particular, we were very impressed with the Rezi case study. Showing an +86% in overall revenue and a 243% increase in organic signups. These are certainly the types of SaaS SEO KPIs that we like to see reported. At the end of the day, it always comes down to MRR/ARR.
Here's our overview of Skale.so:

TripleDart makes it on our list, however, we still dropped the overall rating and score of the agency just because of the lack of particular emphasis on SEO. The company certainly works closely with a lot of SaaS businesses. But it's unclear how close the specialty is to SaaS SEO, in particular.

Another reason why we've dropped TripleDart lower on the list is that the location of the agency is outside of the United States. Much like with Skale.so, it's great to see a lot of emphasis on technology companies, however, working with technology companies in the US when you're international can be quite difficult.
The list of technology companies that TripleDart has worked with is quite long. Which is a reason why we're certainly ranking them high up on this list. If you go to their customer stories page, you can see hundreds of technology businesses that have used them. It's honestly very impressive!

Auq.io also seems like a newer agency that's hitting the SaaS and technology space. While I'm very bullish on this agency as a whole, I do think that they are starting to focus a little bit away from specifically SEO work for SaaS businesses. As a result, this always lowers our total overall score.

One thing that I like about Auq.io is that it seems to have a really strong background in more enterprise and B2B-related SaaS businesses. Some of them you probably wouldn't know off the top of your head (and that's a good thing). Companies like Ethan's, Ending Pandemics, and Persona.
I'd say for SaaS businesses that have a really strong B2B and enterprise focus, Auq.io might rank higher on the list for you. A few recent Clutch reviews said things like, "Their SEO research and ability to break it down to us were impressive." And "AUQ’s project management has been excellent."
It's important to note that we probably see Auq.io getting higher on this list over time. And maybe with a little more emphasis on just SaaS SEO. However, when you go to the marketing site, you can see there's still plenty of background that shows their expertise in the space.
Here's our overview of Auq.io:

For those who are in the startup space or who are looking to get SEO or organic search started as a channel for lower budgets, here are some of the more affordable SaaS SEO agencies that we found:
Generally, most of these monthly service fees aren't going to vary greatly from each other. With most basic SEO scopes being around $4,000 per month, on average.
If you're looking to choose an agency that has the most technology, startup, and subscription business expertise, here is who we would recommend:
Choosing an agency by their expertise is certainly something we recommend going after more so than choosing an agency by their fee structure.
Here are the best tips that we have when choosing an agency to work with:
If the agency that you're contacting is telling you that you need to purchase a ton of backlinks or spend hundreds of thousands of dollars just to start seeing results, these are certainly red flags. Serious SEO experts know how to work with any budget and are capable of putting together strategies that are competitive, no matter the website.
It's really important that the agency knows about Google patents, as well. Things like the Information Gain patent (US20200349181A1). They should really be able to express expertise beyond seeming like they learned SEO from a variety of YouTube channels. Or reading online articles and telling you what everyone always says.
Most SEO expertise is going to come from experimentation and trying out new hypotheses based on those Google patents. If they're unable to really "wow" you with a new perspective, move on!
Budget is important. Especially when you're considering how that can play a role in ROAS (return on advertising spend). However, if you think about it, you might actually ruin the opportunity from the beginning.
If you choose a SaaS SEO agency simply based on their monthly fees, then you could end up spending money on tactics that don't work. Which results in you "going in a loop" over the acquisition channel.
Another thing we see often is founders thinking, "I can do this all myself." Or that they need to write every article themselves. Unfortunately, that's just not the best use of your time. When you hear an agency give you a pitch on what to do, try not to disregard how much time that will give you back.
If you're specifically looking for SEO agencies that startups should use, try out that list we just linked.

B2B SaaS SEO is the process of using search engines to attract software buyers who are also decision-makers within target businesses. Usually, B2B SEO has KPIs around the number of demo’s scheduled, leads created, and deals won as part of a sales or marketing qualified lead process (SQL and MQL).

Common SaaS SEO budgets begin on the low side at $30,000 and can go to as high of an investment as $600,000 or more. The variance in budgets can be largely determined by the SEO strategy itself, the size of the SaaS business, and the expectations of the ROAS (return on advertising spend).
