Martech SEO requires comprehensive research to understand where your decision-makers are evaluating solutions. In general, we need to impress your decision-makers with something that will force them to schedule software demos.
Keyword research only goes so far in the process. We tend to look at Google Search Console queries, GA4 data, and other sources for insights.
A robust Martech SEO strategy comes down to share-of-voice (SOV) and TOFU/MOFU/BOFU approaches. Our objective is to get your marketing technology in front of all the Users who have key pain points that your software addresses.
Our goal is to target highly applicable pain points that Users are putting into Google and get your brand in those SERPs (search engine results pages).
Execution comes down to ensuring that we're bringing unique and helpful pages to the internet. Google and other search engines reward websites with clearly authoritative approaches to their SEO strategy.
We will begin a complete flywheel of page production (service pages, informational pages, and more) that leads to keyword growth and organic search footprint.
Reporting is critical when you're trying to comprehend how the marketing source is either generating free trials or generating lead velocity rates.
Our reporting is 100% transparent, easy to understand, and customizable to your Martech SEO campaign.
B2B SaaS SEO is the process of using search engines to attract software buyers who are also decision-makers within target businesses. Usually, B2B SEO has KPIs around the number of demo’s scheduled, leads created, and deals won as part of a sales or marketing qualified lead process (SQL and MQL).

Common SaaS SEO budgets begin on the low side at $30,000 and can go to as high of an investment as $600,000 or more. The variance in budgets can be largely determined by the SEO strategy itself, the size of the SaaS business, and the expectations of the ROAS (return on advertising spend).

Martech SEO isn't too dissimilar from other SaaS SEO strategies. It's all about understanding who you're trying to target, where they often frequent (in the organic search landscape) and how to get in front of them. After that, it's about trying to ensure that we're saying "the right things" in order to truly motivate that User to convert (MQL/SQL/free trial).
Here's how we tend to think about our persona research:
-> Job title: What job title do they hold and where do they sit in terms of making a buying decision. It’s okay if you’re targeting the non-director level persona. As long as you know that you’ll need to follow-up with a sales strategy that transfers the lead to the decision makers over time.
-> Pain points: It’s far easier to start from a path of pain points. What common issues do you address with your software? And do you believe that your buyer persona would be going into Google or other search engines for help? Make a list of these things.
If you think about it, you as a buyer have always done some type of research into the companies that you want to buy from. Even as a consumer, you either read reviews or you choose to look up what other Users have to say about the technology before you make a purchase. We need to support that journey for buyers, giving them everything they need to be able to make a determination about the marketing technology software.
This comes in the form of producing a number of page types. From use case pages that speak to your specific solutions, informational pages that help guide Users to be able to solve problems, and much more. All of this is motivating the User to adopt trust into your brand.
We think about MOFU, BOFU, and TOFU content as playing around with bringing new insights to the internet using the following types of keywords:
-> Branded Searches: A prospect knows who you are and is looking into what you offer.
-> Attention Searches: People who don’t know your solution exists, but have a pain point, "how to sell my life insurance policy for cash"
-> Awareness Searches: People know the solution exists, however, don't know what you exist, "project management tools"
-> Consideration Searches: People know the solution and your brand. So they use modifiers, "project management tool + [your brand]"
-> Conversion Searches: Something like, "basecamp alternatives" or "freshworks alternative"
Yes. Pain point SEO doesn't have to be a very specific style of approach. It's generally the concept that we as a company and as partners to you, should understand what the top pain points are that the software solves. For example, is it able to solve automation needs? Is it able to solve integration needs? If we're able to put together a matrix of your strongest aspects of the software and what your existing customers love the most, we can increase the chances that aligning certain SEO pages to these pain points may create conversions and MRR/ARR.
We believe that SEO, in combination with a robust omnichannel marketing strategy, can create incredible product-led growth engines perfect for B2B, B2C, and enterprise SaaS (software as a service) businesses.
